Wow, I can't describe what I first felt when I saw this photo. It made me smile.
I can't help but create dozens and dozens of scenarios in my mind how this shot could have come up.
That's what I call good street photography. -I'm sorry if my English isn't the best. It's almost midnight were I live. :)
Anyway congratulations on your well-deserved DD!

This makes me think of the movie Amelie. :) There is one part in particular when Amelie sees an elderly blind gentleman crossing the road and helps him across, then walks with him a bit and describes to him everything that she can see. :)

This reminds me of the last time I was at an airport. I was using the restroom - it was after a long flight, you know? - and this blind man replete with cane and dark glasses was having trouble washing his hands. It was one of those automated faucets, and it wasn't working for whatever reason.

But then some guy nearby helped him to the next faucet, which worked well enough, and even helped get soap onto his hands. I ended up handing him some paper towels when he'd finished. I even caught another person pointing him the way out (so to speak) when he'd started to head the wrong way.

It's amazing how we forget how dark the world is supposed to be when we see and take part in these acts of kindness, right when the people needing help need it the most. Even the simple things make the world a better place.

That's what I felt when I saw this picture. It's well-deserved of a DD. Good job, Petach. :salute:
